What we keep. Very little.
You don’t need an account to read or ask questions, and we don’t set tracking cookies.
Your questions
Questions are used to find and write an answer, then discarded. They are not saved to a history and are not tied to you. To find and write an answer, your question, your last few questions in the same conversation and the matching records are sent to the AI services that run this site’s search and answers.
If you press “Request research on this” or send a correction, that text is saved for reviewers, along with the page it came from and, for research requests, which person you asked about. We don’t ask for your name or contact details. Requests a reviewer has handled are deleted after 90 days.
Limits on use
To stop abuse, the site counts requests per visitor for a short time. It stores a code made from your network address with the site’s secret key, not the address itself, and deletes these counts after two to three days.
Links out
Sources open on their publishers’ sites, which have their own privacy policies. We don’t send them anything about you beyond what your browser sends when you follow a link.
